Special events

Special event bar service across Hampton Roads

Some events are just a party. Others have a job to do. Raise money, win a room, mark a career, open a building, get people to the polls. Those are the ones we are built for.

Licensed, insured, certified bartenders and waitstaff, handcrafted cocktails made on site, and rentals from a single barrel table to a full multi-station build. Pick the kind of event you are planning.

Every kind of event we pour for

The six above are the ones people search for most. They are nowhere near everything we do. If your event is on this list, we have run it before.

Orange means it has a page of its own. Everything else is booked the same way. Send us the date and what you are planning.

Across every kind of event

What every special event gets from us

The six above look different on the night and run on the same operating standard. Whatever you are hosting, this is what does not change.

  • Staffed for the arrival, not the headcount

A room where everyone arrives at once is a throughput problem, not a guest-count problem. We size bars and bartenders to your timeline, which is why a short event can need more staff than a long one.

  • You buy the alcohol and keep the margin

We make nothing on the alcohol, so we have no reason to overstate quantities. You get a shopping list with quantities, brands and rough costs, and you buy at retail in your own name. On a cash bar or a fundraiser, every dollar of that margin stays with you.

  • Published rates, itemized every time

The numbers on this site are the numbers on your invoice, broken out line by line across staff, rentals and fees. No packages you have to take whole, and nothing that appears for the first time at the end.

  • A real non-alcoholic program

Every cocktail on our menu can be built as a mocktail, and we run full non-alcoholic stations with the same uniformed team and the same bar. Nobody in the room is handed a warm soda.

Organizations we work with

  • Corporations & employers
  • Hotels & venues
  • Nonprofits & foundations
  • Campaigns & committees
  • Chambers of commerce
  • Universities & colleges
  • Hospitals & health systems
  • Law & professional firms
  • Dealerships & retail
  • Developers & brokers
  • Military & first responders
  • Private hosts

We name categories rather than clients on purpose. Discretion is something we specialize in: executive, celebrity, political and high-net-worth rooms where the guest list never becomes somebody else's marketing.

Named venues we already work

  • Slover Library
  • Chrysler Museum of Art
  • Hermitage Museum & Gardens
  • Portsmouth Art & Cultural Center
  • The Mariners’ Museum & Park
  • Virginia Beach Convention Center
  • Military Aviation Museum
  • The Founders Inn & Spa
  • The Cavalier

A cross-section, not a full list. Museums, libraries, ballrooms and civic spaces we serve across the region. For a municipal building or a base club the question is whether outside vendors are allowed on site, and we can work any base that brings in caterers and vendors for entertainment and support. Ask and we will confirm what yours requires.

The same standard, whatever the room

  • Licensed and insured, with a Certificate of Insurance for your venue
  • ServSafe-certified, state-certified bartenders and mixologists
  • We invoice at our standard published rates, every time
  • Discretion as a specialty — executive, celebrity, political and high-net-worth rooms
  • Every cocktail can be made as a mocktail, plus full non-alcoholic stations
  • Based in Hampton Roads, early on site, and no weather gamble

Where we work

All seven cities of Hampton Roads (Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Chesapeake, Portsmouth, Suffolk, Newport News and Hampton) plus Williamsburg, Richmond, Virginia's Eastern Shore, the Outer Banks and all the way to Miami. Beyond that, travel is a line item, not a limit: if you can cover the travel, we will be there.

Common questions

Do you work with campaigns from any party?

Yes. We are a bar service, not a political organization. We work for whoever books us, we do not take sides, and we do not talk about one client's event to another. Our staff are there to pour drinks and look after your guests, and that is where it ends.

How do you handle invoicing for a campaign or committee?

We invoice at our standard published rates, the same numbers on this site that any other client pays, with an itemized breakdown of staff, rentals and fees. We do not discount for political work or provide anything free of charge, because a committee's paperwork is far easier when every line is a straightforward vendor payment at the going rate. Your treasurer gets one clean invoice.

Can you handle a late booking or a moving run-of-show?

Usually yes, and we are used to it. Campaign timelines move, venues change, and the run-of-show gets rewritten more than once. Call us with the date even if the details are still soft: we would rather hold a slot and adjust than have you assume we are booked.

On the night, tell our lead where the pauses are (the speech, the introduction, the press availability) and we will pour around them rather than through them.

Can you do a fully non-alcoholic event?

Often our favorite kind. Volunteer events, daytime rallies, school and civic functions and plenty of ceremonies run with no alcohol at all, and they still deserve a real bar. Fresh shaken lemonades, infused waters, cold-pressed juices, our Hot Chocolate Experience and locally roasted coffee service, served by the same uniformed team from the same setup.

Who holds the ABC license for a special event?

Your organization or your venue does. A Virginia ABC banquet or special-event license is issued to the host, not to a bar service. We do not obtain it for you, but we will tell you which one applies and what it covers, and we work under it. If your venue already holds one, that is usually simplest. "Not sure yet" is a normal answer on a first call.

What fees should we budget for?

All of them, up front: bar delivery is $125, or $200 for a second floor or stairs with no elevator. Trash removal is $250 and only if your venue requires us to haul it out. There is a $50 booking fee when you reserve the date. Events of 100 guests or more carry a service charge of $3–6 per guest, which goes to the crew and takes the place of tipping. Travel beyond our core area is a line item we quote openly.

Let's get started

Tell us about your event.

Send us the date, the venue and the headcount. You'll get an itemized estimate, a custom cocktail menu and honest guidance — free, with nothing committed. Once you book, we send the shopping list: what to buy, what it should cost, and where to get it.

10% off for military and first responders. Free consultation, no obligation.

We've poured at weddings, festivals and a few parties we're not allowed to talk about. Every one of them started with this question.

Are you 21 or older?

Virginia law requires a yes before we can show you the bar.
