On January 12, 2025, the Coastal Virginia Magazine Wedding Showcase took over The Founders Inn in Virginia Beach, bringing together some of the best wedding professionals in the region. Iron Bartender Mocktail Contest: Flavor, Presentation & Creativity at Its Best

The first event of the day, held just before the much-anticipated Milk & Honey Bridal Fashion Show, was our Iron Bartender Mocktail Contest. This contest put event attendees in the spotlight—giving them a chance to showcase their mixology skills with 15 hand-selected ingredients, including:

How the Contest Worked

We randomly selected contestants from the audience to compete for a $400 Executive Beverage® gift card, redeemable for wedding bar services, bar rentals, or custom beverage planning. Each contestant had to create their own signature mocktail using the provided ingredients while wowing the judges with flavor, presentation, and creativity.

Our panel of three expert judges carefully evaluated each drink, looking for a balance of great taste, beautiful presentation, and innovative ingredients.

And the Winner Is…

After an intense round of mixology creativity, Liz Rossi was crowned the Iron Bartender Mocktail Champion, walking away with a $400 Executive Beverage® gift card! Liz’s unique combination was the mocktail that impressed the judges the most!

Cocktail Shake Dance-Off: Bringing the Energy to the Stage

The next show-stopping event was our Cocktail Shake Dance-Off, a high-energy, crowd-pleasing competition that put brave attendees front and center.

The Challenge: Shake, Dance & Entertain

For this contest, we selected daring volunteers from the audience to step up and shake a cocktail while dancing to the beat. Contestants had to bring big energy, great moves, and crowd engagement while shaking up a delicious cocktail—a true test of bartending showmanship!

Unlike the Iron Bartender Mocktail Contest, which was judged by local event professionals, this event was crowd-judged—meaning the contestant who got the loudest cheers won! If there was a tie, our expert judges would make the final call.

And the Crowd Favorite Is…

After some epic dance moves and impressive cocktail shaking, the winner of this year’s Cocktail Shake Dance-Off was Johnnie Simmons!

With an unbeatable combination of determination, style, rhythm, and crowd engagement, Johnnie took home the title and, of course, the ultimate bragging rights for 2025’s best cocktail shake dancer!
